Plan your week, not just your tasks
Will Be Done is a local-first task manager built around a visual weekly timeline. Instead of revolving around Today, it keeps the whole week visible: every day is a column, and you drag work between days as plans change. Missed tasks stay where you can see them instead of piling up as overdue.
Key features
- Weekly timeline — see the full week and drag tasks between any day
- Local-first — a full database on every device, so reads and writes never wait for the network
- Offline — the whole app works with no connection at all
- Self-hosted — one Docker command, SQLite storage, no external services
- Open source — AGPL-3.0, developed in public on GitHub
- Keyboard-first — Vim navigation and a global quick-add shortcut
- Project boards — kanban views with columns you define
- Today view and stash — focus on what you scheduled right now
- Desktop apps — Linux, macOS and Windows, plus a mobile-ready PWA
- HTTP API — documented with OpenAPI, so scripts and bots can drop work into your week
Who it is for
Weekly planners who want to see every commitment across the week, keyboard people who prefer not to reach for the mouse, self-hosters who want their data on their own hardware, and developers who want to drive tasks from scripts.
Pricing
Free while in alpha, then $3/month for the cloud. Self-hosting is free forever, with no paid tier and no paywall.
