Vehla: The AI Command Center for macOS
Vehla is a native Swift app for Apple Silicon Macs that consolidates a stack of single-purpose utilities into one command center. Instead of installing separate apps for launching, window management, clipboard history, dictation, OCR, and file shelving, Vehla brings them together behind a single hotkey.
What It Does
- Command Palette — Launch apps, search files, manipulate text, and run workflows from anywhere with ⌘ Space.
- QuickGlass AI — Select text and Vehla appears beside it to summarize, rewrite, explain, or reply without switching windows.
- Shelf — Temporary working memory for files, images, folders, and links you want to deal with later.
- Flow Dictation — On-device, streaming, system-wide voice-to-text that types directly into the focused app.
- SnapWheel — A gesture-based wheel around your cursor for window control and quick actions.
- Clipboard Intelligence — Searchable history of text, code, URLs, images, and commands you copied hours ago.
- Island — A system surface at the edge of macOS for controls, status, and shortcuts without opening a window.
- Workspaces — Notes, canvas, Kanban, and Recall search for everything Vehla has indexed locally.
Local-First AI
Vehla runs on-device models through MLX, Ollama, LM Studio, and Lekh AI Pro, so text actions, dictation, clipboard OCR, and Recall retrieval work without a connection. If you prefer cloud models, bring your own API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, or OpenRouter — requests go straight from your Mac to the provider, stored in macOS Keychain.
