Piano Nova

Upload any sheet music as PDF, photo, or MusicXML and learn to play it note by note with interactive practice tools.

Introduction

Piano Nova

Piano Nova is a browser-based piano learning tool that turns your own sheet music into interactive, playable notation. Upload a PDF, a photo of a printed score, or a MusicXML file, and Piano Nova converts it into living notation you can hear, slow down, loop, and play along with.

Key Features
  • Bring your own music — Upload sheet music in PDF, photo (JPG/PNG), or MusicXML/MXL format. Any genre, any difficulty. Uploads stay private.
  • Hear it, then play it — Listen to the piece before touching a key, then play along on your own acoustic or digital piano. MIDI keyboard or microphone input (beta) both work.
  • Bar-by-bar practice — Slow passages to half tempo, set custom loops, practice hands separately, then speed back up.
  • Three modes — Listen, Practice (waits for the correct note), and Perform (grades your run and rings the bars that went wrong).
  • Progress on the sheet music itself — Play a bar in time and Piano Nova marks it. No badges or points — just the actual bars filling in as you learn.
  • Weekly goals — Choose how many days a week to practice; Piano Nova picks the next twelve bars each session.
Pricing
  • Free — 3 scores, 5 pages each, full listening and opening-only practice. No card required.
  • Monthly — $19.99/month.
  • Yearly — $149.99/year (37% off monthly).
  • Lifetime — $299 one-time payment.
Platform

Runs in your web browser on desktop, Android, and iPhone. Nothing to install. Works with USB or Bluetooth MIDI keyboards, or the built-in microphone for acoustic pianos.

Piano Nova is built in the open by a solo founder and is currently in open beta.
