Meterless

Local-first ownership layer for agentic AI: Relay automates desktop workflows, Gaia keeps persistent memory, and Swarms builds agent graphs.

Introduction

Meterless: Own the Work AI Does for You

Meterless is a local-first ownership layer for agentic AI. Instead of discarding the structure behind an AI output, it preserves the missions, memory, decisions, and artifacts so your work compounds across sessions, devices, and models.

Core Products
  • Relay — the Hands: Describe a goal, select which application windows Relay can access, inspect the plan, and save successful work as a reusable mission. Steps are vision-verified with approval gates, and missions can be scheduled and replayed for zero new tokens.
  • Gaia — the Mind: A persistent AI workspace that keeps projects, memory, missions, research, and artifacts connected across sessions, independent of whichever model created them.
  • Swarms — the Agent Graph: Type one goal and Swarms auto-generates a full agent team, then runs it in parallel locally in your browser. The graph is yours to edit, rerun, and refine, with every artifact keeping its lineage.
Free Tools

Meterless also offers free, private-by-default browser tools: Anyfile for converting documents, spreadsheets, images, PDFs, audio, and video; PDF Workbench for merging, splitting, and protecting PDFs; and Image Batch Studio for resizing, compressing, and watermarking image batches. Files are processed on your device, not uploaded.

The Meterless Runtime

Powered by an Apache 2.0 open-source runtime, Meterless provides model-agnostic routing, persistent context, local execution, privacy controls, and quality-aware orchestration. Its primitives include Markovian cognition for long-running tasks, H-MEM memory tiers stored as grep-able files, shared world models, Scout tool routing, and parallel swarm execution.

Why It Matters

Models come and go; your work stays yours. Run once with a frontier model, then reuse the saved structure with cheaper models at scale. The engines are on GitHub, so you can read the source and run it yourself.
