Hansel is a sovereign, end-to-end encrypted communication platform for teams and individuals who want to own their communications outright. Your email runs on your own infrastructure, your messages are encrypted on your device, and no company can flip a switch and lock you out.
Why Hansel
Hansel was built after a Workspace subscription was cancelled and the account owner was locked out of their own email, contacts, and documents — instantly, without recourse. Hansel makes a different promise: we can't lock you out, we can't read your data, and we can't cancel your account, because none of it lives with us.

- Wicked Crumbs Protocol — a proprietary cryptographic messaging protocol. Every message is encrypted on your device before it leaves, with RSA-4096 key pair generation, a rotating identity system, a tamper-evident message chain, and QR code key exchange for in-person verification.
- Sovereign Email — send and receive email from your own domain using infrastructure you own, with multi-domain support, RFC-5322 threading, HTML rendering, attachments, signatures, and an alias system with independent inboxes.
- Encrypted Messaging — end-to-end encrypted real-time chat between Hansel users, stored locally on your device, with auto-sync and delete timers from 10 seconds to 24 hours.
- Smart Inbox — automatic email categorization that keeps your inbox clean without scanning your content.
- Calendar & Notes — a built-in calendar with email invite import, plus rich text notes with folder hierarchy that stay fully local.
- Multi-Profile — multiple independent users on one device, each with isolated identity, messages, and settings, plus PIN lock per profile.
- Enterprise Admin Dashboard — org health metrics, seat management, domain and alias oversight, billing, backup metrics, permissions, activity log, message trace, DLP scanning, and eDiscovery with legal hold.

Requirements
Windows 10 or later, an internet connection for email and messaging sync, and a Hansel account (free to create). macOS, iOS, and Android clients are coming soon.
